The attendants will be given an overview of ohow Estonian journalism began in the 19th century and how it has evolved since then. The lecture will be held in Estonian.The lecture is a part of Karl August Hermann’s Print Shop and Publications exhibition programme. The exhibition introduces the 19th century print shop, that was located in the same building as Tartu City Museum these days, and it’s publications.The print shop was located on the first floor of this historical building. Hermann had acquired the newspaper Perno Postimees in 1886. He renamed it Postimees. For the next ten years Hermann published Postimees in Tartu at his print shop called Hermann’s Print Shop.The entrance fee is 2€.
